Once there lived three friends in a village. They claimed to be sincere friends. They belonged to poor families. One day they decided to try their luck. They set out together on a journey. They promised to help one another through thick and thin. While traveling, they laughed and chatted. They had so devilish ideas in their minds. They passed through a forest. They were dead tired. So, they decided to take a rest for some time. They sate under the cool shade of trees. Suddenly they saw a bog of gold coins lying at a distance. they rushed to it and hurriedly opened it.
They were overjoyed when they found the bag full of gold coins. They decided to divide the gold coins equally among themselves. In the meantime, they felt hungry. They sent one of them to the nearby village to bring food for them.
On the way, he thought of a devilish plan. He bought some poison and mixed it with the food. Actually, he wanted to get all the gold coins himself. In his absence, the other two friends also decided to distribute the gold coins between themselves. So they planned to kill him. When returned with poisoned food, they attacked him and put him to death. Being unaware of the tragic consequence, they began to eat the poised food. After some time, they cried horribly and died at the spot. No one could get the gold coins. The three friends fell a victim to their own greed and the gold coins remained there unclaimed.
